Wii Sports Resort and Tiger Woods 10
A few weeks ago I picked up the recently released Tiger Woods 10 and Wii Sports Resort with included wii motion plus accessories. Right now there are a small amount of games that utilise the motion plus and these two games use it the best.
Wii Sports Resort is a minigame collection similar to the first but this time utilising the greater precision and accuracy of the Wii motion plus accessory. The included mini games are:
- Swordplay
- Wakeboarding
- Frisbee
- Archery
- Basketball
- Table Tennis
- Golf
- Bowling
- Power Cruising
- Canoing
- Cycling
- Air Sports
Not all of these activities are good but there is enough of a variety to make this game worth picking up. Archery and table tennis are the standouts with swordplay, frisbee, basketball and bowling all solid mini games. Wii Sports Resort excels when played with a group of people where natural competitive inclinations arise.
I have never played a Tiger Woods game before but I have played plenty of other EA sports games and knew the sort of things to expect. It is typical of any sports games in that there is pretty much unlimited replay value with the amount of courses, tournaments, career mode and various mini games. The inclusion of Wii motion plus support changes the way you play by making you actually swing as you would in real life. The translation of your actions are pretty accurate and takes into account the angle at impact (causing draw or fade), how far you swing back and how strong your swing is. It is a good game to play if you want to take it easy for an hour or a whole afternoon.
So far I played much more of Tiger Wood 10 than Wii Sports Resort but both games are worth picking up.
