December 30 (Paris)

  • Rodin Museum
  • Orsay Museum

December 31 (Rome)

  • Paris to Rome – Via Vueling, a budget Spanish airline
  • Express Train to Termini Station (Rome’s central station)

January 1

Places mostly closed on January 1st, should also take note that museums are mostly closed on certain days so make sure you plan out your schedule.

January 2

  • The Colosseum
  • Palatine Hills
  • Piazza Venezia
  • The tomb of the unknown soldier
  • Capitoline Museum

January 3

  • Metro out to almost the furthest point (eur fermi) then 777 bus to Euroma 2. A large shopping complex
  • National Roman Museums – Palazzo Massimo, Baths of Diocletian

January 4

  • St Peter Cathedral
  • Did not visit the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel due to enormous line. Did not have a chance to come back later.
  • Piazza di Spagna – high end shopping district
  • Trevi fountain
  • Pantheon
  • Piazza Navano
  • Campo de fiori

January 5 (Florence)

  • Rome to Firenze (Florence)
  • 2 hrs by train
  • Stayed at a service apartment 2 days, able to cook with supermarket nearby
  • Cathedrale opera di Santa maria del fiori

January 6

  • The Uffizi Gallery
  • Ponte vecchio
  • Saw a medieval parade while walking to the Palazzo Pitti
  • Palazzo Pitti – Palatine gallery

January 7 (Venice)

  • Train from Florence to Venice
  • Stayed in San Marco area
  • Basilica di San Marco
